
This is the famous Chinese fried dough! Most people have it for breakfast in the morning along with rice congee or some type of soup.
Chef Jiang’s creation is a smaller version of the larger fried dough they have in restaurants. They are deep fried, very deep fried, I’m not a super big fan but the Chef likes it. =)
The fried dough is called “da gouzi” in Chinese (Mandarin). Be sure to look for it if you find yourself wandering around Chinatown in the mornings.
