Unlike most of my friends, I'm a big fan of tofu. So I've tried all types of tofu dishes including sweet tofu, fried tofu, tofu soup, tofu and meat dishes, etc. Out of all the tofu dishes, this one, "Spicy Tofu with Green Onions" is my favorite! This dish is easy to make, my mom usually can prepare it under 5 to 10 minutes. It's one of those must-haves everytime I come home to visit from school. My mom taught me how to make it, it's simple and quick. Depending on your taste, you can buy tofu of various firmness from grocery stores. I usually get the firm ones since they are easier to chop into pieces.
- Chop tofu into small squares. (one of those standard size boxes you get from the supermarkets is good)
- Prepare green onions and chop that into small pieces too.
- Add two table spoons of oil into the frying pan. (note these serving portions are usually made for two)
- Once the frying pan is heated, add in the tofu and the green onions.
- Add salt and spices.
- Stir for about 5 minutes.
- Ready to serve.
