My mom like these fish, they come in slices in a frozen package. Fairly good deal too, I think they're about $8.00 a package.
Nice healthy nutritious dish to add to any meal~

These came in in prepackaged frozen sets. A package of 4 was about a couple bucks. I like them but they're a little bit too hard, not chewy enough for moi. I like the soft pancakes much more! hehe….you buy them uncooked, then you fry them yourself.
Terrific dessert pastry.

Yummy~ We got 8 of them for $1 at a giant Asian supermarket! Super good deal! You typically have these salted duck eggs for side dishes. They are good with rice congee or buns. They are usually sold raw and you boil them yourself, if you can boil chicken eggs, you can boil these too!

Ever since I was a little kid, my favorite part of the mid-autumn festival has always been: the MOON CAKES!
There's a fairy tale behind the moon cake, one about a girl from heaven, falling in love with an earthling, then she was punished and turned in a rabbit. The bunny lived on the moon, every year, she got the chance to meet the person she loved for one day.
There are many different fillings for moon cakes, typically, there would be an egg yolk, egg yolks represent the moon in moon cakes. I personally don't like the type with egg yolks. If you also don't like them, get the red bean fillings or the nut fillings.
Mid-Autumn festival is coming up soon, you can pick up a piece of moon cake or a box of four from most Chinese supermarkets. (they're usually priced at around $5.00 per piece)

This is actually one unusual dish, I don't think my mom's ever made it quite like this before.
Last weekend, we stumbled upon a pick-your-own farm. We got these green beans, it was my first time picking vegetables. So, here's a dish wish my hand picked green beans. Most of the time, she doesn't put potatoes in and it will just be a regular green bean dish, I actually like it with the potato chunks, it makes the dish more…hmm….the added potatoes make it mushier and creamier.

This soup is made in a special pot. The official Chinese name translates it into the "Sand Pot" (someone translate this into English for me please).
The soup making process is actually quite simple: add water, add in whatever ingredient you want! The one my mom makes most of the time consist of some sort of seafood, frozen tofu, mushroom and lettuce! Sooo soo good~

A long long time ago….a food genius in China invented this goodness called: MENTOU! For the next few thousand years, this food became the single most eaten food in the East. Let's all hail the great mentou!!!!!
Made with 100% white flour…the traditional mentou is available in most Asian supermarket, available in both prepackaged bags as well as freshly steamed bamboo boxes! My favorites types are the freshly made ones with home made dough, they're especially chewy and delicious. The prepackaged ones tend to contain a form of ingredient to make it last longer and it takes some of the taste away.
The Chef will be here shortly to provide recipe on how to make this very yummy Asian pastry.
**If you've never had mentou, you can't say you know Chinese food! It's true……..ask any Chinese native and they will back me up.
